How fast
do cyclists go?
The cycling
results table
above shows the
spread across
all rides in
average output.
It shows the
results entered
by cyclists
after each event
onto the SVCC
results board.
The number of
rides includes
summer and
winter events
and any special
cycling events
in Australia or
represented
racing. The Avg
Time is compared
to all events,
along with Avg
Speed. The Avg
Max Speed is a
combination of
downhill or
sprint.
This year in
the Tour de
France, stage 16
saw riders
average 47.5 kmh
in the 1st hour
of racing, then
cap 43 kmh per
hour for the 5th
hour. Wow! thats
special. Compare
that to the
speeds above and
our club has
very impressive
riders in all
grades. Riders
from all over
Australia,
Melbourne,
Sydney,
Brisbane,
Adelaide etc all
ride with
Southern.
